Our share classes

Each Share Class is ringfenced. Investments made by each Share Class into Qualifying Companies are evaluated by the relevant investment Advisory Committee and guided by the appropriate Investment Mandate.

Agritek's vision

Investing in locally-developed technology solutions and locally-deployed connectivity and infrastructure solutions that focus on the agricultural industry, positively impacting the sustainable production of food directly or indirectly. 

Investment mandate

The Agritek Share Class only invests in Qualifying Companies that:

  • Provide technology-based solutions to the agricultural industry, such as:
    • Software;
    • Hardware (e.g. probes, drones, etc.); or
    • Rural connectivity.
  • Have an acceptable market share or strategic position.
  • Are for-profit businesses.
  • Are in line with The Impakt Fund’s overall Investment Mandate.
  • Meet the criteria of Section 12J.

Agriherds' vision

Investing in livestock rental companies, that provide livestock farmers with alternative financing in the form of commercial rental agreements to fund the expansion of their herd.

Investment mandate

The Agriherd Share Class will only invest in Qualifying Companies that:

  • Own livestock which are rented to farmers, such as:
    • Sheep
    • Goats
    • Dairy cattle
  • Are for-profit businesses.
  • Have regular cash flows.
  • Have sound credit risk management processes in place.
  • Meet the criteria of Section 12J.

Agriherds' vision

Investing in equipment rental companies, that provides farmers with alternative financing in the form of commercial rental agreements to fund their depreciating non-income generating movable assets.

Investment mandate

The Agriquip Share Class will only invest in Qualifying Companies that:

  • Own moveable assets which are rented to commercial farmers, such as:
    • Livestock handling equipment
    • Irrigation equipment
    • Hardware, e.g. laptops, desktops, drones, etc
    • Crop protection equipment
    • Renewable energy generating equipment, e.g. solar and wind
  • Are for-profit businesses.
  • Willing to take first losses.
  • Have regular cash flows.
  • Have sound credit risk management processes in place.
  • Meet the criteria of Section 12J.

MyRhinos' vision

Investing in rhino breeding operations, breeding stock and conservation initiatives to ensure the survival of the species, reducing the capital required to establish and operate these initiatives and having a positive impact on the sustainable breeding and release of rhinos to repopulate Africa.

Investment mandate

The MyRhinos Share Class will only invest in Qualifying Companies that:

  • Own rhino breeding stock.
  • Operate rhino breeding or conservation initiatives.
  • Are for-profit businesses.
  • Are in line with The Impakt Fund’s overall Investment Mandate.
  • Meet the criteria of Section 12J.

Amandla's vision

Investing in Qualifying Companies to ensure that they obtain the required black ownership status to access the necessary market(s) and resources to scale their impact. 

Investment mandate

The Amandla Share Class will only invest in Qualifying Companies that:

  • Meet the investment criteria of one or more of the other Share Classes; or
  • Are supporting downstream businesses to several investees; and
  • Are for-profit businesses; and
  • Are in line with The Impakt Fund’s overall Investment Mandate; and
  • Meet the criteria of Section 12J.

Only investors that classify as black according to the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Amendment Act will be eligible to invest in the Amandla Share Class.
